love day

i know that i am a day late, but the point will remain the same.

brandon and i are a little unconventional when it comes to birthdays, valentines, christmas etc. we're not big romantics that believe in showing love through gifts and flowers. we still buy one another things, but it's just not expected.

we're the type that cooks for one another then helps with the clean up. it's getting up at 4:00 in the morning to turn on the gas logs so that the house is warmer when we wake up. or making the decision to spend our year of savings on a spur of the moment trip to europe because it has been a lifelong dream, which in turn postponed house and baby plans so that we could have these memories together. it's making conscious efforts to be better, to bicker less, and to appreciate more. it is a learning process even after almost ten years.

our first song we danced to couldn't say it any better.

There is no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing, but I can try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a, shoebox of photographs
With sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
Sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together.
