The Pixie

I have had a lot of comments about my hair over the past couple of months so I thought I just write a post on it!

Over the past several years, I have always dreamed of the pixie and admired those brave women that pulled it off so well. There were several times I would even look up the best facial structure for a pixie cut to see if I could even pull it off! Lame... I know. But truthfully, I just didn't have the balls to do it.

Now...I have never been one to be emotionally attached to hair. After all, it always grows back. BUT the first time I actually went to get my hair professionally colored, disaster struck and I had no other choice but to chop it.

When the girl that normally does my hair couldn't fit me in for a color in time for family pictures, I opted for someone else. First of all you should know that my hair was about shoulder length so there wasn't a whole lot to work with. And I was super stoked about getting my hair colored for the first time! I went in with two pictures of the hair that I wanted.
I wanted the bob on the left with the caramel ombre tones of the girl on the right.

What I got was a skunk streaked mullet. Now, I actually would fit in well in these parts with that hairstyle, but it's not really to my liking, if you know what I mean. Like the southern gal that I am, I paid the lady for her time and walked out in tears. TEARS, people!! I never thought I'd be crying over hair. But here it was a week before our family pictures, and I looked like Joe Dirt's sister!

So immediately called my sister-in-law for a Wal-Mart box makeover! She didn't feel too confident in her ability to box color and fix my mullet so she set me up with another professional that could fix a girl up!

I could no longer pull off the sling bob with the front of my hair being the length of my chin therefore I chopped it. I mean why not? At that point, I didn't really have a lot to lose! So I did! And I am loving it!

Don't they say everything happens for a reason?? Well... sometimes you have to go through a mullet to get a great haircut! ;)
